Payment, Shipping, Warranty, Return and Privacy Policies

Payment Methods

HDS Systems, Inc. accepts major credit cards and account transfers through PayPal when items are ordered directly from our web site. We also accept checks and money orders when orders are placed through the mail.

To place an order with check or money order, please do the following:

  • Add the items you want to order to the Shopping Cart.
  • Go to the Shopping Cart page and select everything from the description to the total. Copy the selected lines and paste them into an e-mail. Don't worry about how ugly the unformatted pasted text looks.
  • If you live in the state of Arizona, add a line for sales tax - it will be the total times 0.087 (8.7%).
  • Add a line for shipping - see Shipping and Handling below for the proper amount.
  • Tally up the three amounts - item total, sales tax and shipping - and add a line with the grand total. This is the amount you should write a check for. Please double-check your math.
  • Add your full name, address and phone number.
  • After you send the e-mail, print out the e-mail and include it with your check. Mail your order to:

  • You may delete the items from the Shopping Cart when you have finished.

Orders that include out-of-stock items will be held until all items are available for shipping.

Shipping and Handling

HDS Systems charges a fixed shipping and handling fee per order:

  • $15 for Priority Mail service in the USA
  • $60 for Priority Mail service to international locations

Shipments include insurance and tracking where these services are provided.  The insured value is the declared international customs value - no exceptions.

We cannot combine separate orders to save on shipping. All items placed as a separate order will be shipped separately.

You must provide a complete and accurate english language shipping address. Please double-check your shipping address before placing your order. We ship to the address you provide with the order. If you ask us to correct your order address, we may have to cancel your order - less the non-refundable transaction fee - and you will have to place a new order. If the order is returned as not deliverable to the address you provided, you are responsible for paying a second shipping fee to send your order to the corrected address.

Warranty

HDS Systems warrants to the original owner that Product will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the life of Product.  This warranty does not include cosmetic blemishes, damage, modifications and normal wear.  HDS Systems, Inc. will repair Product, replace Product with an equivalent Product or refund the original purchase price for the defective Product - at its sole discretion.  You are solely responsible for determining the Product's suitability for your application and you take sole responsibility for Product's use.  In no case shall HDS Systems, Inc. be liable for more than the original purchase price of Product.

Please contact us prior to returning Product. Please send us an e-mail containing a brief description of the problem, your full name, address and phone number. Warranty service is provided by returning your product and a printed copy of the e-mail postage paid to:

If Product requires repairs not covered by this warranty, we will contact you with an estimated repair cost and ask you to provide a payment method prior to making repairs.

Warranty service on EDC UltimateTM and EDC BasicTM flashlights

We sold the EDC Ultimate and EDC Basic product lines in May 2006 to Novatac, along with all of the tooling, spare parts and fixtures required to provide warranty repairs. We learned from our valued customers in 2007 that warranty service was no longer being provided for these products. We find this unacceptable.

Effective immediately, we will provide warranty service for the EDC Ultimate and EDC Basic flashlights. As we have no spare parts, tools or fixtures, we will replace flashlights we cannot fix with new flashlights. We will honor the flashlight output and runtime specifications of the flashlight exchanged. If your flashlight must be exchanged and you would rather upgrade to one of our current models, we will provide you an $80 credit toward the purchase of any of our current models, including custom models.

We want you to know that we value you as a customer. And we want you to know we are here for the long term. We appreciate your business and hope that when it's time for you to get a new flashlight, you will think of us.

Return and Cancellation Policy

HDS Systems offers a 30-day return policy - some restrictions apply. Returns must have been purchased directly from HDS Systems and must be returned postage paid in new condition with the original packaging and a copy of your invoice. Please tell us why you are returning the item. We do not refund shipping or financial transaction fees on returned items. Items shall be returned to:

Batteries and similar consumable items cannot be returned.

Orders for custom built items containing LIMITED parts cannot be cancelled, returned or refunded.

Orders that have been shipped cannot be cancelled and will be treated as returns.

Privacy Policy

HDS Systems collects information in the normal course of business so we can provide you with the products and services you request from us. We do not sell or otherwise share this information with third parties other than to the extent necessary to provide the requested products and services or to comply with a valid Court order.
