The light that gets you homeSM

EDC Tactical flashlight

The HDS Systems' EDC Tactical interface uses a rotary control and single button to create the most advanced tactical interface in the world. Yet this advanced interface is so simple, even a young child can operate it. Best of all, this advanced interface only requires gross motor skills - the only kind you can depend upon when you are under stress, and it works in noisy environments and with heavy gloves.

The rotary control is used to select one of the 3 modes of operation. The button activates the light.

The fully clockwise position - against the rotation stop - provides momentary maximum output. When the button is pressed, you get maximum light output. When the button is released, you get darkness. This mode of operation is used for tactical "flash and dash" techniques - a burst of light to illuminate your opponent and the scene followed by you disappearing back into the darkness, depriving your opponent of a target. The momentary mode of operation also ensures that if you should drop your flashlight, it will remain off and not provide your opponent with a ready target.

The second clockwise position - away from the rotation stop - provides a momentary Tactical Strobe. When the button is pressed, you get a bright high speed disorienting strobe optimized to achieve compliance. When the button is released, you get darkness. This mode of operation is used for disorienting and subduing a person without the use of deadly force. The momentary mode of operation also ensures that if you should drop your flashlight, it will remain off and not provide your opponent with a ready target.

The counterclockwise position provides an adjustable brightness control that allows you to adjust the output from bright to dim, providing you a convenient way to select the amount of light you need for your task - whether that is filling out paperwork, following a trail, investigating a crime scene or any number of other tasks requiring a constant ON light source. You click the button to turn on your flashlight. You use the rotary dial control to adjust the output brightness - including Tactical Strobe and Maximum. You click the button a second time to turn off your flashlight. Can you imagine anything more convenient?

Maximum output is always available at the press of the button, even when you are using a lower output. Just press and hold the button from any brightness level to get Maximum - release the button to return to the previous brightness level. Or double-click to toggle between the selected brightness level and Maximum.

You can preload a selected brightness for use before you go into a tactical situation - as soon as you hit the button, you are instantly in tactical mode without moving the control.

We even provide a mechanical button lockout so you can safely pack your light in your duty bag.
