Discontinued - sold February 2000 through December 2002 The 24-3V-series models feature our compact single array employing 24 white LEDs. The LED array is driven by a microcomputer controlled constant current power supply. The light provides 5 brightness settings ranging from the extremely bright Overdrive setting that is brighter than most flashlights to the frugal Dim setting that can be left on all month. The daylight quality light is focused into a smooth broad beam that is optimized for best night vision. The light is waterproof and very rugged. You will never have to worry about the light coming on in your pack accidentally with our new electronic switch lock. And we even include an emergency signaling mode that automatically sends the international SOS distress message.

Note: the Overdrive setting allows you to see over 50% further. However, it is limited to a 20% usage factor not to exceed 30 seconds per use use to prevent damage to the array. The light switches back to the High setting automatically when this usage limit is exceeded.
External Battery Packs and CordsThe reliability of your light depends upon the quality of the battery system and the wiring connections used to connect the battery system to your light. Always choose a high quality battery and cord system, keep it properly maintained and make sure all connections are clean and sound.
Our cords are rugged industrial cable. The ends are stripped and soldered, ready to be inserted into the gate terminal blocks. Wires are color coded: red should be connected to the positive (+) terminal and black should be connected to the negative (-) terminal. The Action Light 24-3V-NB model is configured without a battery pack so you can use your existing external battery pack or one of your own design. The light may be connected to any external battery pack that can supply the specified power. Therefore, you are free to choose between primary or rechargeable batteries. The wattage specified is for the Overdrive setting and will allow you to roughly calculate how long any particular battery pack will last. The power ratio between settings is roughly 4:1. The minimum voltage listed will generate correct operation on all settings. As the voltage falls below the minimum voltage the amount of light generated on any particular setting will decrease gracefully. For most efficient operation, always select a lower setting when the setting you are using starts to dim. Selecting lower power settings will increase the total time remaining. Owner's ManualThe Owner's Manual teaches you how to properly use and care for your Action Light.ChangesVersion 2: add microprocessor controlled constant current power supply with 5 brightness settings, switch lock, SOS signaling and wide voltage range. Add swivel blade (3/4" flat hook) mount. Add replaceable lens protector. Add dry nitrogen atmosphere.Version 1: Version 1 product description.
